| The RSA pair warned off the start, West & West after 15 strokes, Di Clemente & Cech warned again at the top of the island. West & West hit the start of the booms and missed one stroke. The RSA pair warned again at the Barrier and Fawley. Throughout the race Di Clemente & Cech were composed and dominated their larger but less technically adept opponents. The West & West steering was a problem in the later stages | Frandsen &.Williams, the heavier crew, took an early lead but did not obtain clear water until after Remenham. They were repeatedly warned for their steering, but the Danes could never get back to make an effective challenge |
