| Durham jumped into the lead off the start and rowed well within themselves, though not well together. Oxford Brookes hung on gamely but could make no real impression on their opponents | An amazingly tough race - the London crew appeared to have done enough at the Mile Post, but NUIG mounted a spirited attack, pushing up to and perhaps beyond 40 strokes per minute to snatch the race by one foot on the last strokes |
