The Womens Head of the River, Saturday 7 March 2009
|Trial crews were first and third in the Women's Head of the River on Saturday 7 March, with Leander second. All three came from a group of 15 Elite crews in the second half of the draw, denied an earlier start by the convention that crews race in last year's finish order.
The other Elite crews came mainly from a strong Overseas entry. The 10-second starts were delayed five minutes for the course to clear.
